Ep 9: Jos Mulder

Jos Mulder lectures in Sound at Murdoch University in Perth, WA. His career started in Europe, specializing in recording orchestral music, then producing live sound on musical tours before landing the formidable task of making amplified performances in The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam sound as good as the acoustic ones. He honed his craft working with composers like Steve Reich and Karlheinz Stockhausen and now passes on what he has learned to a new generation.

So how do you get a great acoustic concert hall to sound good amplified? And what can we do to save the hearing of musicians and concertgoers? We discuss all this and more.
